24 Hour roll cage build for 2006 Mustang GT

A repeat customer who races cars professionally came to us in need of a roll cage for his 2006 Ford Mustang GT.  "No problem" we said, "send the car down!".  He replied, "Great, it's on it's way, I need it finished by tomorrow morning." Roll cages are quite time consuming, and knowing this we took the job on as a challenge.

Here's how the car arrived at our shop around 5pm.
The cage is built to Formula Drift specifications.  It is a six point roll cage with multiple bends per tube to match the contours of the Mustang.  High NASCAR style door bars were made to protect the driver in the case of a side collision.
The reason custom roll cages usually take more than a day to complete is because everything has to be perfect. The safety of the driver sometimes depends solely on the cage that surrounds him.  Tubing bends and intersections have to be placed precisely to ensure strength in collisions and extra plates and gussets need to be used as well.  This car will be sliding sideways into turns doing 100mph, and although this job had a rush put on it we didn't spare the safety of the driver just to meet the deadline.

Finishing up the cage and putting the last door bar in place to be welded.
The job turned out a success and was finished on time.
Here's a video of Tony driving his other Mustang. (when there's video of the new car being driven i'll post it here)
