Tire spinner for original Willy's Jeep

This spare tire rack + spinner was built for a customer to make what little space is left on his original Willy's Jeep useful.  The customer was in the process of converting it from a military vehicle to an all-terrain family day trip vehicle.  With an aftermarket gas tank he had no room left for his spare tire.  We utilized the pillars from the original roll cage to make this tire spinner.
Two slight bends were needed to keep the upper bar from getting in the way of the seat. The "Y" shaped spinner handle was welded to 1" all-thread and spun into a nut welded to the cross members of the tire rack.  The wheel takes less than 20 seconds to remove from the vehicle with this method.
We left the steel un-coated so the customer could paint it to his liking.
While this Jeep was being turned into more of a custom offroad vehicle, check out this video of how quickly an original Willy's Jeep can be disassembled!
